How much are missed calls costing you?
If customers phone you before they book or buy, every unanswered call is a small leak. Put in your own numbers from your call log and see a rough monthly figure.
- The number that matters is not missed calls, it is missed new callers who do not try again.
- Your call log already holds the answer: count one normal week of missed numbers and how many called back.
- Most leaks happen at predictable times (on a job, lunch, after 17:00), which means they can be covered automatically.
How the estimate works
Missed new callers = calls × share missed × share from new customers. Of those, the share who never call back is lost. Lost callers × your close rate = customers lost. Customers lost × what a customer is worth = the monthly estimate. Nothing is added on top: every number comes from you.
Fixing it without hiring anyone
Common fixes: a receptionist or answering service (a monthly cost), forwarding to a mobile (you still miss calls on a job), or an instant automatic text back to every missed caller that says who you are, answers the usual questions and offers a time to call back or book. The last option is what we build at TheCopyGrind3r, alongside instant replies to emails and forms.

Questions
How do I know how many calls I miss?
Open your phone's call log or your provider's dashboard and count the missed and unanswered calls for one normal week, then multiply by about 4.3 for a month.
Do people who get no answer call back?
Some do, many try the next business instead. Check your own log: of last week's missed numbers, how many called again or left a voicemail? Use that share in the calculator.
Does an automatic text feel robotic?
A bare "sorry we missed you" does. A short message in your own words that says when you will call back and links to booking reads like a busy human. You keep control of what it says.
Is my data stored?
The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is saved. Only if you choose to fill in the form are your email, website and these numbers sent, so I can reply. Privacy.
Is this calculator exact?
No. It is an estimate built only from the numbers you enter. Change the inputs to match your business.
